There is a thing mystical about the seascape I began painting in 1970. I can not look to pretty finish it! The operate feels 99.99 % comprehensive but there it is, I can not let it go.
It is pretty probable that obtaining an unfinished project is a healthier issue. You have to reside extended adequate to get back to that Point. It stares at you, demanding that final touch that would get you to say, 'it is performed!'
What I am stuck on is the rocks. The seascape has concentrate upon a rock archway that has been carved by the ocean more than millions of years. By way of this arch in the foreground, the viewer sees vast sea and sunny sky. The painting has sturdy colour tone and the rocks are rather detailed. I like the colors while I retain adjusting hues ever so slightly.
A further exciting truth is that my wife and I have been married just a bit longer than this painting has existed. Possibly I have been applying this piece of art as an avatar for our marriage, a visible platform for mood swings and whatnot. It has been a delighted union and the painting is also delighted and optimistic hunting.
Now I am hunting at the rocks and pondering about working with a million distinctive dots of colour to boost the realism. Pixels from a paintbrush, not a laptop or computer screen. This final flourish of paint may perhaps take A different forty-4 years! I would be a centenarian!
I have to confess that my painting is a copy of a Walter Foster original, while it is a rather superior copy and extensively modified. Walter Foster is my hero as far as seascape painting is concerned. He was such a genius with the use of light.
Possibly the painting reminds me of my youth, filled with power and idealism. I do not miss the crazy feelings but I do extended for that physical strength I took for granted. This seascape aids me to escape to that spot in my mind... forever young.
Ocean and sky influence me just as a great deal as the rocks. I saw a vista even though driving back from Campbell River that was astounding! Perhaps I will photograph that scene and get started to paint it. The sea and sky and land... fantastic for a therapy artwork. It gets you out of oneself and back to the beauty of this planet.
I got a sense of peace from writing this short article about my painting. I hope readers will love my outpouring of gratitude for life.
Art therapy is a wonderful point!
